CONDITIONS OF BOARDING

contract

You must agree to our terms & conditions in order to board your pet with us. This applies to all Bunny Haven branches.

Bunny Haven will not accept any pet that is showing signs of illness, disease , pregnancy or injury. We can not be held responsible for any of the aforementioned. Please DO NOT BRING YOUR RABBIT/S TO BUNNY HAVEN IF IT HAS A RUNNY NOSE (no matter how insignificant it seems).  COLDS & SNIFFLES ARE CONTAGIOUS AND CAN KILL RABBITS. However, if your pet has any non-contagious existing medical conditions please inform us in writing of administration procedures. Bunny Haven ensures all pets are fed a well balanced diet, and are safe, we will not be held responsible for any illness such as Myxomatosis, VHD, snuffles, diarrhoea, fly strike, mites or other common disease or infections. We reserve the right to have every pet vaccinated on our premises in the event of a local outbreak of any contagious disease, this will be carried out by our vet, to ensure the welfare of all animals on the premises.

We reserve the right to seek advice from our vet if we have any reservations on the health of your pet, i.e. ear & eye infections, disease, mite infestation, neglect. Any vet fees incurred whilst your pet is in our care must be paid for on collection of your pet.

All rabbits must be vaccinated against VHD and Myxomatosis and a valid certificate must be provided on boarding.

All rabbits at risk from fly strike must be treated with rear guard or equivalent prior to boarding. We will not be held responsible for any illness/infections if we have done everything instructed to the best of our ability.

Please be honest with us when bringing your pet, you know your pet more than we do! With regards to fly strike, Bunny Haven takes every step possible to avoid any pet being a victim of fly strike, all cages are cleaned out daily, fly nets are over the windows & door & a fly zapper is on 24 hours a day. However we cannot be held responsible for any pet becoming a victim of fly strike due to the way these flies operate. All rabbits will be checked as much as possible during their stay.

We will not except any rabbit that has a dirty bottom on arrival, so please ensure your rabbit is cleaned & treated to rearguard prior to their arrival.

We take every precaution to protect your pet whilst in our establishment and all pets are transported to grass areas by pet carrier to avoid accidents regardless of your pets handling experience.

We reserve the right to take any action deemed fit in respect of your pet in the event of non-collection or contact by yourselves after 14 days of arranged date of collection. Any fees incurred will be passed on and court action will be taken.

OUR CAGES

tn_42851868

All rabbits and guinea pigs are kept in either single or double hutches depending on your requirements. All pets will be able to use our garden runs as we have around 8 of them.

Please note: Our cages are going to be smaller than what some pet owners have at home. Many rabbits have the run of the garden with no restraints or have the run of a house or conservatory, we do not provide this at Bunny Haven as we are a boading establishment.

Our cages are between 3ft - 6ft in length (double) and the runs vary in size. Any pet with a single hutch will be given more opportunity to use the garden runs for obvious reasons.

Finally, alot of people say that their rabbit is a house rabbit, please do not worry, we would not put a rabbit that lives indoors in an outdoor hutch especially in the colder months. Our rabbit house is heated during the winter and kept cool during the summer. If your pet lives out all year and has developed a good winter coat, please let us know, we do not want to put your pet inside if they are used to cold temperatures. However, if the temperature was too cold we would put your pet inside our garage, it is still chilly in there but out of the way of any penetrating frosts.

HOT WEATHER

sun

During the summer of 2006, we experienced some very extreme temperatures which are considered unusual for the UK. Unfortunately any extreme heat is beyond our control, but we will try to take every precaution necessary to protect your pet during their stay while at Bunny Haven. We will not put any pet out during the hottest times of the day, we will provide fresh water at all times, we shall minimise the risk of over heating using fans, air cooler, wet towels and we will seek veterinary advice immediately should your pet show any signs of heat stroke or other heat related problems.

SAD CIRCUMSTANCES

CAEFPMJM

It is a known fact that many small animals can pass away with very little or no warning and very quickly after first showing signs of illness. This has happened to my own rabbit. This is very distressing for you the pet owner and us at Bunny Haven. Every care and respect is given during these sad times with regards to your pet, however Bunny Haven is unable to keep pets that have passed away on the premises. All pets will be taken to our vet for you to arrange collection for home burial or cremation. Please inform us of your wishes should your pet pass away while in our care.

We will accept no liability in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill or passes away while staying at Bunny Haven.

BRINGING AND COLLECTING YOUR PET

carrier

A time of arrival must be arranged a minimum of 2 days prior to your arrival unless previously agreed. We will not be held responsible for any costs incurred to yourself if you are excessively late bringing your pet and we are no longer available.

We request that all customers are prompt in bringing their pets, we do not wish to moan and groan but it is very frustrating when we have been given a time of arrival and the pet arrives hours later. All arrivals/collections more than half an hour late (from the arranged time) will have a small charge added to their bill, unless we have been previously notified. We are not happy about doing this, but over the last year we have lost countless hours waiting around for some pets to arrive

We fully understand if you are delayed on your journey home and this is often unavoidable and of no fault of your own, so therefore we request that customers telephone us on return from their holiday to arrange a time to collect their bunny or piggy. Once a time has been arranged, we again, please, request you are prompt in collecting your bunny or piggy. Please DO NOT just turn up to collect your pet. We are very busy with the bunnery and we have family commitments.

VISITING BUNNY HAVEN

wel

We do not mind anyone who wants to visit us here at Bunny Haven, we ask anyone who wants to visit to email us only, a time and date can be organised easier as I do not always have my diary with me. I do prefer all visits to be made either on a saturday or sunday morning. However if you are unable to come then we can arrange an evening in the week for you to visit. Please appreciate we get very busy from March onwards and visiting may be limited. If you have any questions please email me.

Finally with respect to other clients rabbits that might be housed at Bunnyhaven we ask that anyone who visits abides by the following;

Do not let children run around the garden or the bunny house, some rabbits can become upset and frightened by sudden noises of excitable children, plus we do not want any accidents.

Under NO circumstances are any of the hutches/cages to be opened or unlatched by anyone.

Refrain from touching the rabbits/guinea pigs (not all pets are used to children or being petted and some can bite!) also some infections can be spread by touching.

We will not be held responsible should you or your child injure themselves or be injured whilst on our property.

PARKING

parking

Parking: We request that all customers park outside our home either on the road, on the drive (if empty) or across our driveway. Please do not obstruct any neighbours driveways, we don’t wish to upset the neighbours. Thank you for your co-operation. Do Not park on the pavement!

CANCELLATIONS AND DATE CHANGES

diary

Please inform us if you need to cancel your booking, either by email or phone, we have had several folks book and then not turn up, we are a very popular and busy small business & we often turn people away during our busy times. We will not be offended if you need to cancel, but just let us know, it is very frustrating and unfair if we are waiting for people who do not turn up. We have the right to refuse further boarding dates from anyone who has failed to turn up without letting us know or for those who have repeatedly cancelled dates. We will only provisionally hold dates for 7 days (peak seasons) or 14 days (off peak) unless the booking has been secured by a non-refundable deposit.

Please inform us as soon as possible if your dates have changed from when you originally booked, we book up very quickly during busy times and cannot always accommodate your pet if your dates have changed significantly.

Small animal boarding does not require the same regulations and licencing as kennels and catteries. Bunny Haven has public liability insurance and is insured for pet loss only through proven neglect or injury on our part. All animals are left at their owners risk.
